# Limit orders

Limit orders let you buy or sell when price reaches a target.

## Access

* Token Trading UI → **Limit Order**
* `/limits` dashboard for pending orders

## Order types

| Type           | Trigger                                     |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| Buy at price | Execute buy when token price ≤ target |
| Sell at price | Execute sell when token price ≥ target |
| Price change % | Trigger relative to price at order creation |

## Expiry options

* 1 hour
* 6 hours
* 24 hours
* 7 days

Expired orders are cleaned up automatically.

## Dashboard (`/limits`)

Shows:

* Pending limit orders with trigger price, target MC, distance %, estimated outcome
* Active Trading Shield configs
* Cancel buttons per order

## Execution

Handled by `limit_engine.py`:

1. WSS subscription on token's pool
2. Price compared to trigger each event
3. On match, swap executed with user's slippage/fee settings
4. Order marked filled or removed

## Ghost mint protection

If a token becomes untradeable, cooldown prevents repeated failed execution attempts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hipersnipe.com/features/limit-orders.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
